Grandfather - A Gift

Grandfather is a special gift,
Of love that's deep and true.
He is always standing by,
To guide and comfort me.

He has this auspicious strength,
To keep me safe from harm.
Yet I can feel the softness,
Of his gentle grace and charm.

With his wrinkled skin and week eyes,
He is filled with adorance and is wise.
He understands my hopes and dreams,
And helps, make them feel worthwhile.

He is always in my heart,
Wherever i may go.
That's why i love him so.

Controlled and strategic
It is practical and reasonable

9 Fun Ways To Celebrate V-Day!!

Valentine’s day is around the corner, the whole world is preparing for the V-day. Many of us think of spending big bucks at fancy restaurants or prefer holidaying at exotic resorts. Though fancy and expensive ideas really attract us but are they the best choices available to express our love for each other. Do we really need to drain our pockets to showcase our love and care? Love is said to be beyond all kinds of materialism, it is supposed to be pure and powerful. Lets look at how we can make this Valentine day more fun filled and at the same time be romantic.

1) Step up : Dancing together can be the most sexiest and romantic of all activities that a couple can do. Just turn on your favorite music, brace yourself and indulge in some ballroom dance. Dance together like mad until you are content. You don’t need lessons to dance in your living room.

2) DIY Gifts: Prepare a homemade gift. Make a video of your best memories or a large photo frame which could be hung on the wall.

3) Exotic dinner: Eat at home, prepare your favorite meal together. Arrange for a candle light dinner and prepare your entire dinner table and room just like an exotic restaurant. Use scented candles and romantic lights.

4) Recreate you first date: Remembering your first date and reliving it can always bring back those cherishing moments in life. Do all that you did on your first date.

5) Romantic Movie date : Create a cozy atmosphere with few pillows, a cozy blanket, your favorite snacks and watch your favorite romantic movies one after another like Titanic, Notebook, Casablanca, Gone with the wind etc.Make it a movie marathon. It will bring back all romance in your life

6) Play Games: Compete with each and play games, make it a game night. Play games like Scrabble and use only V-day words. A healthy competition spice ups your love life.

7)Valentine with kids: If you are one of those who can't leave their kids, then don't shy away from celebration instead involve them in valentines day activities that you plan. Get them make a card for you and involve them in your Valentine’s Day dinner preparation. You will enjoy as a family and also will help kids learn the importance of relationship

8) Adreline rush : Plan to do few adventure activities together like Scuba diving, sky diving , paragliding etc. An adrenaline rush can be a long lasting memory.

9)A romantic getaway : Traveling together can be one of the best experiences, chose one of the peaceful hill stations and spend time in each others arms admiring nature.

Here's wishing all a Happy Valentine's Day.

Living, Loving, Laughing & Fighting

“ A wedding is a start of togetherness and we have decided to annoy each other for the rest of our lives “
Yes! you have read it right. We decided to annoy & not love each other for the rest of our lives. These were the words that we chose when we decided to formally let the world know that we were ready to be called as husband and wife. These wonderful words made way into our glorious wedding invite, which we designed by breaking all geographical barriers while my husband was at Singapore and I was in Johannesburg. God bless, Mr Tim Berner and Mr Graham Bell for opening all channels of communication for us.

I remember one of my dear elderly friend and ex-colleague after reading my invite advised me to start  on a positive note and not by annoying each other. I laughed out loud and brushed it aside. Now, when I look back since the day when we started our journey together, we actually annoy each other on a daily basis. This statement on wedding card which we added just for fun, turned out to be true.

Marriage is all about learning, sharing even if you annoy each other. Marrying to a person of absolutely contrasting personality can always aid in learning process. My husband is a bibliophile, verses from Shakespeare, Tolstoy etc are at the tip of his fingers. To the contrary, i am just an average English speaker. There are instances when i and my husband are having an argument on some trivial issue. It is a situation where i am confident that i have an upper hand and i would definitely win an argument. I am sure of being able to take over the entire situation and then my husband introduces me to some weird word from Oxford dictionary or an uncommon idiom which i don't understand. Now, here I get stuck in a situation which is absolutely ridiculous, i really want to argue but then I land up thinking what is it that he actually meant ?  Though these moments are highly irritating at first, but then it turns hilarious and funny as this trick of my husbands really calms down my anger and we end up finding humor in this situation. We have shared multiple instance like this, which has eased out a grave and a heated argument between us and we have ended up laughing together. In this entire process, i have always learnt more.

Love and marriage is always about growing up, living , loving, laughing and fighting where fighting must convert to learning for both the partners. Some say marriage is a work, some say marriage is a societal pressure, and some say marriage is to grow. Choice is always ours. It is up to us to make it living, loving, laughing and a healthy fighting.

A great marriage is not when the “perfect couple” comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences. –Dave Meurer
